1Ski OG sparks heat with new single

With summer rapidly approaching, dancehall fusion artiste 1Ski OG already has the ladies warmed up with his new single Ay Gyal.

Presented as a collaborative effort between Against Da Grain and Epic Records, this musical offering is designed to resonate with music lovers while encouraging female confidence and sensuality through its captivating melody and its hallmark dancehall delivery style.

Released with an official video to complement, the single made its way to all major streaming platforms last week and has already managed to be added to multiple major playlists, including Best of The Week Caribbean by Audimack and New Music Friday presented by Apple All Genres Apple Music.

Speaking with 1Ski OG he shared how he intends to further make an impact with this release.

“ It’s summertime, and naturally as a dancehall artiste a track for the ladies is mandated. Every move is intentional, my team and I want to bring the fans to the authenticity of Jamaican culture through the sound and the visuals and we captured the essence of true core dancehall through the scenery, the bright colours, and the moves showcased throughout the entire video. The aim is to market this track as a reminder of our roots through a modern creative lens,” he said.

For Ay Gyal, the artiste employs a blend of candid lyrics that not only entertains as it pushes boundaries but also serves as a brewing anthem for his female fans who seek to express their inner sultriness while still fostering a sense of culture.

As the track gains momentum, it is sure to become a defining piece in the artiste’s catalogue that will continue to be impactful even after the summer season concludes.

Previously released tracks from 1Ski OG include Life Of A Man (L.O.M), a more emotionally unmasked track that showcases his ability to create connections that go beyond surface level; Have You Ever, a celebratory ode to the ladies; and his breakout single Dawkniss, which undoubtedly highlights the artiste’s versatility and lyrical capacity as each single appeals to a different season and situation.

The artiste, who recently hit the stage at the Canada staging of Akaine’s New Rules Festival, is focused on further cementing his name in the musical space through continuous marketed releases and live performances.
