Atlanta Primus calls for sharper attack after Panama draw

Atlanta Primus said the 0-0 result against Panama was a demanding outing, but one her team must use as part of its build-up to a November meeting with Costa Rica.

Speaking after the match, Primus said the squad approached the fixture as preparation, while still needing to show professionalism and apply what had been worked on in training. She said the result was difficult to accept because the team did not force the Panama goalkeeper into enough saves.

Primus said the return of players such as Bunny Shaw would give the side another attacking option. She described Shaw as "the best striker in the world" and said her presence would add a different dimension, while also noting that players involved in the Panama match had delivered useful performances.

Even so, Primus said the main lesson was clear: the team has to be more threatening in the final third. She said the group must keep building with the players available and improve its ability to test opposing goalkeepers in future matches.

Looking ahead to Costa Rica in November, Primus said the Panama fixture offered helpful preparation because of similarities in playing style. She said the game was frustrating at times, but useful for learning, development and readiness for the next assignment.
