
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Seven people are now confirmed dead following a collision between two vehicles along the highway at Bogue Gate in Trelawny.
Five victims were pronounced dead at the crash site after a Toyota Regius bus and a Hino truck collided. Two other victims were taken to Falmouth General Hospital, with the second of them dying from injuries on Friday morning.
The names of those killed have not been made public. Reports indicate that the Toyota Regius driver was the only person to survive the crash.
The seven deaths have increased Trelawny's road fatality count to 21 since the beginning of 2026. Fifteen traffic deaths were recorded in the parish over the equivalent period in 2025.
Investigators have not yet determined the full sequence of events leading to the collision, and their probe remains under way.
