Lime Hall advanced to the second round of the 2026 Popeyes Challenge Cup with a 2-0 win over Wi-Fi United on Wednesday 13 May 2026 at Drax Hall.

Diego McKenzie claimed both goals for Lime Hall. The opener came from a move down the left involving Tain Campbell, who supplied a low ball that McKenzie turned in from close range. McKenzie’s second arrived in the 61st minute after Shakie Kane drove the ball into the box, Wi-Fi goalkeeper Hall failed to gather cleanly, and McKenzie steered the loose ball home.

Lime Hall led 1-0 at the interval and doubled their advantage just after the hour. Wi-Fi improved after the break and created several half-chances, including a lob that was cleared near the post and a strong save by Lime Hall custodian Saunders, but they could not cut the deficit. Play was also held up late when match balls ran short and a replacement had to be brought on.

Wi-Fi thought they had been awarded a penalty at one stage, but referee Francis reversed the decision after speaking with an assistant, and a Wi-Fi bench player was later sent off. Saunders was later hurt in a scramble following a corner and Lime Hall were given a free kick deep inside their own area; Anderson remonstrated with a Wi-Fi player as treatment continued.

Lime Hall introduced CJ Gibbs, the club’s leading scorer in this season’s Jamaica Football Championship on seven goals, with Carlos Campbell and Anderson on five each, according to commentary on the night. McKenzie was withdrawn through injury and replaced by Javan Smith; Lime Hall also used O’Neal Henry. Wi-Fi introduced Kandre Wilson and others as they chased the game, while a busy Edwards was eventually substituted. Burgess picked up a late yellow for a challenge that gave Lime Hall a free kick just outside the box.

Wi-Fi head coach Andrew Edwards said his side must focus on players for the future and lacked consistency in turning good passages into clear finishes. He added that Wi-Fi would regroup after their first season in the second-tier league, that the club now understands the level required, and that rebuilding would begin for next season.

Lime Hall coach Shane Allen said his team had promised to give their best and had done so. He said winning the entire cup was a realistic target if the squad continued to work hard and apply themselves in the Popeyes competition.

Match figures relayed on the broadcast had Lime Hall with 13 attempts and three on target, compared with eight attempts and two on target for Wi-Fi, four corners each, 58 percent possession for Lime Hall, 15 fouls by Wi-Fi against eight by Lime Hall, and three cautions in all, two to Lime Hall.
