Twenty-four native-bred three-year-olds have been provisionally entered for the 2026 Jamaica Derby Classic, the third and final leg of the Triple Crown, scheduled for Thursday, August 6 at Caymanas Park.
The 12-furlong (2,400m) Classic will see colts and geldings carry 126lbs, with fillies weighted at 121 lbs.
Headlining the entries are the season’s three Classic winners; We Jammin, Salute The Don, and Dream Catcher.
We Jammin, the Jamaica St Leger winner, comes in with stamina to burn. His dominant win over 10 furlongs last time stamped him as the proven stayer in the group and makes him the one to beat over the Jamaica Derby distance.
Salute The Don, the Jamaica 2000 Guineas winner, brings speed and class. After taking the mile feature in impressive fashion, he couldn’t handle We Jammin in the St Leger but is consistent enough to make his presence felt here.
Dream Catcher, the Jamaica 1000 Guineas heroine, leads the filly division. She’ll be spotting the colts 5lbs but has already proven she can mix it up with the boys, and her tactical speed could be a big factor over 12 furlongs.
Below is the list of the 24 horses provisionally entered, their trainers, and career earnings.
