Arsenal secure Premier League title as Manchester City stumble at Bournemouth

Arsenal became Premier League champions on Tuesday, sealing their first league triumph in 22 years when Manchester City were held 1-1 by Bournemouth.

Pep Guardiola’s side had to win on England’s south coast to extend the contest, but even a late Erling Haaland strike was not enough to deliver the needed result.

For Mikel Arteta’s team, the achievement follows three consecutive seasons ending in second place and also brings Arsenal’s six-year wait for silverware to a close.

The Gunners had moved within touching distance on Monday by beating already relegated Burnley 1-0, a narrow victory that put them five points ahead of City.
