Beenie Man releases reflective new single 'Heavenly Father' ahead of Summer Sizzle 2026

Veteran dancehall star Beenie Man has surprised followers once again, this time unveiling a fresh single titled 'Heavenly Father' that early reception suggests is striking a chord with listeners. The track has a contemplative, almost devotional feel, with the 'Girls Dem Sugar' offering thanks for past blessings and asking for continued guidance from the Almighty as he moves through the rough patches of the music business.
Speaking with THE WEEKEND STAR about what drew him to the project, the deejay said the song should not be read as a shift away from his core sound. The single was recorded on producer Kemar McGregor's 'Kiss of Judas' rhythm.
"This is not a departure from my hardcore dancehall style, as I have always been doing songs on different genres of music. What inspired me on this is the fluidity of the riddim. The video done is a promo video, and the concept was created by the producer. Yes, the lyrics are coming from personal experience, as everything in life is a personal experience at some point. The album has a title but we are not ready to reveal this as yet. However the hot single is called Callaloo Bed," he said.
While 'Heavenly Father' touches on betrayal and the figure of Judas, 'The Doctor' declined to name anyone in particular, steering the conversation instead toward his upcoming concert, Summer Sizzle, set for Saturday, August 15 at the Woodleigh Sports Complex in May Pen, Clarendon.
The new release lands shortly after his international link-up with British actor Idris Elba on 'Rise Again', a dancehall and UK jungle blend that has been picking up attention since it dropped. The pairing underlines Beenie Man's standing as one of dancehall's most enduring and globally recognised voices.
With a long-running reputation for staging high-energy productions and pulling together strong line-ups, Summer Sizzle 2026 is being pitched as a major draw for both local audiences and the diaspora. Beenie Man told fans to brace for a charged-up evening of music and atmosphere.
"Summer Sizzle has always been about the fans, the music, and the culture. We brought it back strong, and now we're back at it again - bigger, better, and hotter than ever."
