Bus conductor in viral schoolgirl attack video in police custody

After days of public outrage over a viral video showing two schoolgirls being assaulted on a bus, the conductor at the centre of the storm has turned himself in and is now in police custody.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force confirmed that the man presented himself to the Half-Way Tree Police Station following contact by law enforcement on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
He was subsequently escorted to the Kingston Central Police Station, where he was formally handed over to investigators assigned to the case.
Preliminary inquiries indicate that he is the person seen in the widely circulated video, which shows an altercation involving two female students of a Corporate Area high school aboard a public passenger vehicle.
The police say investigations into the incident are continuing and are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
The JCF stressed that it treats incidents of violence, particularly those involving minors, with the utmost seriousness and is encouraging members of the public to utilise lawful channels to resolve disputes as investigations proceed.
