St. Catherine

Police investigators in Linstead, St Catherine, are trying to find the person who shot and killed a cab driver on Zepherton main road on Thursday morning.

The dead man is Roger Arnold, 48, also known as Kevin, from Golden Grove district in St Ann.

According to reports, about 6:30 a.m., Arnold was sitting in his motor car and waiting on fares at the spot widely known as Ochi Bus Stop when a Nissan AD Wagon with several men aboard pulled up beside the stand.

One of the men is said to have got out, aimed a firearm at Arnold and fired multiple rounds into his upper body.

Arnold was taken for treatment at Linstead Hospital, but doctors later confirmed his death.

Police reports suggest the gunmen may have singled him out.

The Linstead Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the inquiry.
