Capleton drops second single “ Prayers Up” from new album
Reggae-dancehall legend Capleton

Reggae-dancehall legend Capleton is entering a powerful new era — and fans are already turning up the heat for his latest single, “Prayers Up,” featuring Derrick Sound.

The fiery new track, produced by Evidence Music, is now streaming on all major platforms and serves as the second release from Capleton’s upcoming album Heights Of Fire, arriving June 26, 2026.

Packed with spiritual energy and socially conscious lyrics, “Prayers Up” delivers the same unapologetic message fans have come to expect from the reggae icon throughout his decades-long career.

“Jamaica is a spiritual nation so we ah just continue to burn the fire,” Capleton said. “We will always defend equal rights and justice.”

The single is already making waves online, earning placements on major curated playlists across YouTube Music and Apple Music, including Crucial Roots, WorldWide Riddim and NMD.

And if the early response is any indication, Heights Of Fire could become one of the biggest reggae releases of the year.

The project features an all-star lineup that includes reggae royalty Damian Marley and Stephen Marley, as well as rising talent Eesah. Behind the boards, producers like Derrick Sound, Little Lion Sound, Mista Savona, Mixing Finga and L’Entourloop help shape the album’s modern roots-reggae sound.

“The momentum is clearly building and the response from audiences has been extremely encouraging so far,” said Derrick Maître, CEO of Evidence Music.

More singles are expected to roll out in the coming weeks, including “Jah Shine His Light,” “Behave Yourself,” “Highway Robbers,” and “Babylon So Evil,” the latter featuring Damian and Stephen Marley.

With more than 15 studio albums under his belt, Capleton remains one of reggae’s most respected and influential voices. Since breaking onto the scene in the late ’80s, the artist has delivered genre-defining projects like Prophecy and More Fire, which produced classics including “Jah Jah City” and “Who Dem?”

Now, with Heights Of Fire, Capleton is once again blending roots reggae authenticity with fresh sonic textures, proving that his message — centered on spirituality, resistance and righteousness — still resonates across generations.
