Employees of the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) traded their desks for PAN drums at the organisation’s recent Wellness Fair, taking part in the second staging of the Mini PAN Chicken Competition powered by CB Chicken. The friendly cook-off combined creativity, teamwork, and plenty of flavour as participants went head-to-head for prizes and bragging rights.
Designed to promote a healthier lifestyle and employee engagement, the event brought together staff from across the organisation for a day of learning, connection, and wellness-focused activities at the DBJ head office on Oxford Road in Kingston. Among the day’s highlights was the highly anticipated cook-off, which challenged teams to create flavourful dishes using CB Chicken.
Charlene Wong, PR and Corporate Communications Manager at the Development Bank of Jamaica, spoke about the ongoing partnership with CB Chicken.
“The Development Bank of Jamaica and CB Chicken share a common commitment to the well-being of Jamaicans, whether through the products and services we provide or the communities we serve. This partnership is a reflection of those shared values, and we are pleased to have CB’s continued support as we create meaningful experiences for our employees.”
Now in its second year, the Mini PAN Chicken Competition brought an exciting culinary element to the event, with teams of DBJ employees going head-to-head in a friendly cook-off. Participants showcased their creativity using CB Chicken, transforming simple ingredients into flavour-packed dishes that highlighted both skill and innovation.

Samantha Fisher, Assistant Brand Manager at CB Foods, said the partnership was a natural fit for both organisations.
“This is our second year partnering with DBJ on this initiative, and we’re excited to continue supporting a programme that encourages healthier lifestyles in such an engaging way. At CB Chicken, our mantra is Eat. Live. Love. Do Better., and we believe wellness goes beyond physical health—it includes the food we eat and the experiences we share.”
Fisher explained that the Mini PAN competition provided a unique opportunity to bring those values to life through food, teamwork and shared experiences.
“PAN Chicken, known for its wholesome grilled preparation, was the perfect fit for a wellness-focused event. The cook-off created a fun, interactive experience that brought people together while demonstrating that healthy eating can be simple, flavourful and full of vibes.”
This year’s staging also gave participants an opportunity to experiment with products beyond CB Chicken. Caribbean Passion Chorizo Sausages was introduced, adding another layer of flavour and giving teams even more room to get creative.
“Last year, we saw how creative the teams were with their dishes, so this year we wanted to elevate the experience even further by introducing Caribbean Passion Chorizo Sausages,” Fisher explained. “Our smoked pork sausage added another layer of bold flavour to the competition while showcasing a product that is versatile, convenient and ready in 1-2-3.”
CB Chicken also supported the event with branded PAN drums, aprons for participating teams, protein for the cook-off and sampling activities, as well as a case of CB Chicken awarded to the winning team.
Wong was pleased with both the staff participation and the contribution from CB Chicken.

“Overall, we had approximately 100 participants across the various activities, reflecting strong staff engagement and support. The support provided by CB Chicken for the Cook-Off segment of our Wellness Fair added tremendous value to the overall experience. Having a trusted Jamaican brand contribute not only the products and equipment, but quite literally the flavour, allowed us to offer our employees a more engaging and memorable event. We are grateful for the continued support and look forward to what we hope will be a long and rewarding partnership.”
More than just a cook-off, the competition created an opportunity for employees to connect, collaborate and celebrate the role that good food plays in a healthier, happier lifestyle. Through the continued collaboration between DBJ and CB Chicken, the event blended learning, teamwork and creativity into an experience that was both engaging and memorable.
