District Constable Nathaniel McKenzie Dies Weeks After Clarendon Car Crash

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is mourning the loss of District Constable Nathaniel McKenzie, who died on Monday, July 13, weeks after he was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Clarendon.

McKenzie, 36, was assigned to the Clarendon Police Division.

According to the JCF, the crash occurred about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, along New Road in Clarendon. Reports are that McKenzie was driving his motor car in a northerly direction when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.

He sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he remained receiving treatment before succumbing to his injuries on Monday, July 13.

The JCF said its Chaplaincy Services Branch, Medical Services Branch and Welfare Department are providing support to McKenzie’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.

His death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from members of the policing community as they remember his service to the Clarendon Police Division.
