Dream Catcher, Tia Maria among 15 Oaks entries

1 min read

FIFTEEN native-bred three-year-old fillies have been provisionally entered for the Jamaica Oaks Classic on Saturday, August 1. The 10-furlong (2,000m) race carries equal weights of 126lbs for all.

All eyes will be on Dream Catcher, the 1000 Guineas winner. She has been head and shoulders above her peers this season. Connections still have the option of the Derby but if she stays in the Oaks she will be extremely tough to beat.

Don’t overlook Tia Maria. She put her name in the Oaks picture with a commanding win in the Simply Magic Cup over 1,820m recently. She won the event by 4½ lengths in a smooth 1:56.2. That performance suggested she’s crying out for even further distances, making the Oaks distance an ideal fit.

With Dream Catcher’s class and Tia Maria’s rising form, the 2026 Oaks is shaping up nicely.

Below is the list of the 15 horses provisionally entered, their trainers, and career earnings.
