
Public schools to get 55% funding boost, Education Minister says
Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon has said that public schools across Jamaica will, on average, get 55% more money from the Education Ministry.
She delivered the update at this morning’s post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.
According to Dr. Morris Dixon, the Ministry is following through on its commitment to put more attention on learners in the early stages of schooling.
She explained that previous grants have been brought together into one package and topped up overall. The Minister also outlined how institutions should divide and spend the additional resources.
