
Wilson Thimas found dead after Coghiel Road house blaze in Ewarton
Authorities recovered the body of a farmer after a house fire gutted a home in Ewarton, St Catherine, on Tuesday afternoon.
The man has been named as Wilson Thimas, of Coghiel Road, Ewarton.
Reports indicate that shortly after 4:00 p.m. on July 21, flames were observed consuming a residence on Coghiel Road, and the Jamaica Fire Brigade was alerted. Crews arrived on scene and contained the fire.
While personnel carried out cooling-down work, Thimas' remains were found within the ruined building. Investigators documented the scene before the body was taken away for a post-mortem examination.
How Thimas died has not yet been established, and it is not known if the property carried insurance. The Jamaica Fire Brigade continues to probe what sparked the fire.
