Flippa Mafia Withdraws Bail Request and Hires New Lawyer in US Drug Case
Dancehall performer Andrew Davis, widely recognised as Flippa Mafia, has abandoned his effort to secure bail while answering to severe narcotics allegations in the United States.
The step was taken on Monday and coincides with a change in who is handling his defence. Davis has cut ties with court-appointed counsel Edward Borden and engaged Jason Javie, a Philadelphia lawyer whose work spans civil rights, appeals, and post-conviction criminal defence.
Reports indicate Davis remained on probation for an earlier drug conviction when authorities arrested him on suspicion of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
He is charged together with Damion Jones, James McBride, and Clifford Brown with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.
All four defendants have indicated they intend to enter plea negotiations with federal prosecutors. The court has set July 11 as the deadline to wrap up those talks.
None of the other three accused men have filed applications for bail.
