Flow to set up Liberty Business in MoBay amid surge in digital demand

St. James

Vice President and General Manager of Flow Jamaica, Stephen Price, says Liberty Business, formally C&W Business, will establish its headquarters at the Montego Bay Digiport by the end of this year.

Speaking on Radio Jamaica's Real Business on Friday, Mr. Price said the move is in response to growing demand for digital services in Western Jamaica as Montego Bay continues to expand and become more digitised.

He said the company, which was officially introduced at the Rose Hall Great House on May 18, aims to help businesses innovate faster, operate more efficiently and compete in the global digital economy.

Mr. Price also revealed that demand for online services across Flow and Digicel networks has increased by 60 per cent since the passage of Hurricane Melissa last year.

Hurricane Melissa caused an estimated $1.4 trillion in infrastructure damage and at $620 billion in economic losses.

Meanwhile, Mr. Price has called for the public to help combat cable theft, which he described as an economically damaging crime affecting the telecommunications and utility sectors.

He claimed that more than 10,000 people across Jamaica are involved in cable theft activities.
