Floyd Green says RADA offers free liners for farm rainwater ponds
Speaking at the National Irrigation Commission’s official launch of the Hartlands Irrigation Project in St. Catherine, Agriculture Minister Floyd Green told growers that the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) stands ready to help those who plan to build rainwater catchment ponds.
Green said such ponds matter more than ever while drought conditions persist, because they let farms hold water for later use. RADA, he added, can support farmers by supplying pond liners at no cost.
The minister also said work is under way to restore community tanks.
