Former DPP Paula Llewellyn Slams Portmore School Over Graduation Split by Grades

Former Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn has pushed back against reports that a primary school in Portmore grouped its graduating pupils according to academic achievement, labelling the matter "a sad day for education."

The Ministry of Education has weighed in as well, saying the school's conduct does not meet the standards of care that children should receive.

Llewellyn argued that those who work in schools are obliged to strengthen the confidence and capabilities of every pupil, irrespective of examination or classroom results.

Should the accounts prove correct, she said the institution ought to apologise, adding that each child is owed the same worth and respect.
