Tufton unveils public health complaints unit and KPH campus plan
Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton says a new unit is being set up to examine complaints and problems reported across Jamaica’s public health services.
The department will use unannounced checks, undercover patient visits and performance assessments to strengthen oversight and raise healthcare standards. Tufton said hospital upgrades must go hand in hand with improved customer care, stronger professionalism and better support for staff. He also disclosed plans for a new Kingston Public Hospital within a shared health campus that includes Victoria Jubilee Hospital.
