Integrity Commission Pushes Criminal Charges Against Minister Andrew Wheatley
The Integrity Commission is pressing for criminal charges against Cabinet minister Dr Andrew Wheatley, including illicit enrichment and giving false information in statutory declarations.
A report laid before Parliament states that, between 2013 and 2022, he built up assets valued at around $164 million that could not be squared with income from lawful sources.
Investigators further pointed to loans, property holdings and business ties that were not declared, and said he did not cooperate fully when asked to supply details.
The Commission has forwarded its findings for prosecution. Questions linked to tax compliance have been passed to the Tax Administration Jamaica for separate review.
