Jamaica, Panama Pursue Wider Tourism and Air Travel Partnership
Jamaica and Panama are seeking closer tourism cooperation by reducing barriers to travel within the region.
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett said the two countries are considering a broader Multi-Destination Tourism Agreement, stronger aviation links and a common visa arrangement to stimulate regional visitor movement.
The talks covered additional flights connecting Kingston and Montego Bay with Panama City. Jamaica could also share its knowledge of tourism administration and help with training industry employees.
Both countries have reaffirmed their intention to develop a more durable tourism sector capable of supporting sustainable expansion throughout the Caribbean and Central America.
