Jamaica’s artistic swimming programme continued its steady rise on the international stage after Team Jamaica, competing under the JAMUNITED banner, won 21 medals at the Coral Springs Worldwide Invitational 2026 in Florida. The team secured 7 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals during the international competition, while the Jamaican Youth Team also captured the High Point Trophy in their division.

The competition brought together athletes from several countries across the Caribbean, Latin America, and the United States. Jamaica’s strong showing highlighted the continued growth of artistic swimming on the island and the progress being made by young athletes and coaches working together through the JAMUNITED programme.

Jamaica Wins 21 Medals

Team Jamaica entered the event with a delegation of 36 swimmers representing five clubs from Kingston, Montego Bay, and Portland. Athletes competed in several categories including Novice, Intermediate, Age Group, and Youth divisions.

The swimmers participated in figures, solos, duets, trios, and team routines throughout the three day competition.

By the end of the meet, Jamaica earned a total of 21 medals which included:

• 7 Gold Medals
• 8 Silver Medals
• 6 Bronze Medals

The results reflected the growing strength of the programme and the work being done to improve technical skills and international experience for Jamaican athletes.

Youth Team Captures High Point Trophy

One of the major highlights for Jamaica was the performance of the Youth Team, which secured the High Point Trophy in its category.

The achievement added another important moment for the programme as Jamaica continues to build a stronger presence in artistic swimming across the region.

Several swimmers competed successfully in multiple events and categories, helping Jamaica maintain a consistent medal count throughout the invitational.

Coaches Continue Building the Programme

The Jamaican delegation was supported by a coaching staff led by Technical Director Olga Novokshchenova along with coaches Yoaris Araujo Milian, Robyn-Ann Chin Sang, Jessica Baez Prim, Kelly-Ann Lee, Ketana Blount, Pedro Hernández Amador, and Rebekah Bailey.

The team was managed by Ronnie-Dane Renford.

Technical Director Olga Novokshchenova said the competition was an important experience for the athletes and showed continued growth in the sport for Jamaica.

“The athletes performed well and the overall performance demonstrated the continued growth of artistic swimming in Jamaica while highlighting the potential for future regional success,” she said.

Coach Robyn-Ann Chin Sang also praised the athletes for their work throughout the competition.

“Our swimmers showed discipline and commitment throughout the meet. This performance reflects the effort being made by the athletes, coaches, and families supporting the programme.”

Support From Jamaica and the Diaspora

The programme also received support from several organizations and members of the Jamaican diaspora community.

Among those acknowledged were the Jamaica Tourist Board, the Jamaica Olympic Association, and JOA President Christopher Samuda.

The delegation also received support from Consul General Oliver Mair, Broward County Commissioners Alexandra P. Davis and Hazel Rogers, Vice Mayor Joy B. Smith, and Coral Springs Commissioner Joshua Simmons.

Private sector support also came from companies including VM Group, Donna’s Caribbean Restaurant, and Rennalls International LLC.

Building Toward Future Goals

Officials within the programme say the focus remains on continued athlete development, improved technical preparation, and expanding training opportunities for swimmers across Jamaica.

The athletes competing for Jamaica range from ages 6 to 19 and continue working toward future regional and international competitions. The programme also hopes to eventually produce Jamaica’s first Olympic qualifiers in artistic swimming.

The strong results in Florida represent another important step for the country’s artistic swimming programme as it continues to gain experience and visibility internationally.

The Coral Springs Worldwide Invitational 2026 was held from May 1 to May 3, 2026, at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex.
