JN Foundation Opens 2026 PEP Scholarship Applications for High-Scoring Grade Six Students

2 min readKingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The JN Foundation has opened its 2026 Primary Exit Profile (PEP) scholarship window, calling on Grade Six graduates and their guardians to apply for assistance with secondary-school costs.

Candidates who achieved a placement score of 320 or above on this year's Grade Six PEP exams may vie for 17 scholarships covering five years, along with 10 one-off education grants.

Of the long-term awards, 14 will be made through the JN Foundation PEP Parish Scholarship and three through the JN Bank Easi-Save County Scholarship. JN Money Services will fund an additional 10 single-payment grants. The initiative also sets aside 20 scholarships for children of workers within The Jamaica National Group.

Sydoney Preddie, who leads youth and education work at the JN Foundation, said the effort reflects the organisation's sustained focus on young people across Jamaica.

"Every year, we are inspired by the determination and achievements of students across the island. Through this programme, we are not only recognising academic excellence but also helping to create opportunities that empower young people to pursue their goals and contribute meaningfully to Jamaica's development," she said.

The scholarship scheme was launched 43 years ago. Preddie pointed out that awardees enter the JN Scholars community, which offers development beyond tuition. Members take part in annual summer camps with local and overseas presenters, sessions on leadership, financial literacy, stress management and goal setting, and engagements with leaders across The Jamaica National Group.

She said a new mentorship track will be rolled out in the upcoming academic year.

"Our scholarship programme goes beyond funding education. We are committed to helping students develop the confidence, skills and networks they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom," Preddie said.

To be considered, applicants must have taken the 2026 PEP exams, must not already hold a government or other long-term scholarship, and must have held a relationship of at least one year with a JN Group company such as JN Bank, JN Life Insurance, the Jamaica Automobile Association (JAA), or JN Money Services.

Parents and guardians are urged to review the full eligibility rules and submit applications online at www.jnfoundation.com/jn-scholarships by Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
