Live N' Loud Thursdays Become a Creative Hub for Kingston's Live Music Scene

Live N' Loud Thursdays is a monthly live music series dedicated to celebrating authentic performances and strengthening Kingston's live entertainment culture.

Conceptualized by recording artiste Garnett ‘Papiito’ Ferguson and musical director Jhevaughn Murphy, the initiative was brought to life through BlackState Studio under the leadership of Andrew ‘Anju Blaxx’ Myrie, alongside resident band One State Band and legendary sound system Renaissance Sound. Since its launch, the series has quickly become one of Kingston's premier live music experiences, playing a key role in the city's growing live music revival.

Held on the last Thursday of every month at 19 Churchill Avenue in Kingston, the event has built a loyal following of music lovers, industry professionals, musicians, producers and creatives who appreciate authentic live performances and Jamaica's rich musical heritage.

As conversations continue across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean about preserving and expanding live music spaces, Live N' Loud Thursdays has become an important platform for both established and emerging talent. The stage has hosted performances from Sizzla, Bugle, Jahvillani, Turbulence, Jemere Morgan and Kevyn Voicemail, while also introducing rising acts such as Papiito, Sobah and Ecina to wider audiences.

As conversations continue across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean about preserving and expanding live music spaces, Live N' Loud has emerged as an important platform that celebrates musicianship while creating meaningful opportunities for both established and emerging talent to perform before live audiences. Since its launch, the stage has welcomed standout performances from acclaimed acts including Sizzla, Bugle, Jahvillani, Turbulence, Jemere Morgan and Kevyn Voicemail, while continuing to introduce audiences to the next generation of Jamaican talent such as Papiito himself, Sobah and Ecina to name a few.

The event's popular Open Mic segment has become a launchpad for emerging talent, providing artistes and creatives with a platform to perform, network and connect with industry stakeholders. More than a monthly concert series, Live N' Loud has become a creative hub where artistes and musicians are encouraged to express themselves freely, refine their craft and connect with fellow creatives in an environment dedicated to authentic live performance.

“Live music has always been at the heart of Jamaica's culture,” said founder Garnett ‘Papiito’ Ferguson. “Our vision is to ensure there are consistent platforms where artistes can perform with a live band, develop as entertainers and keep this important part of our culture thriving.”
