
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica— A man succumbed to injuries he sustained in a three-vehicle collision on the Content main road near Santa Cruz in St Elizabeth on Saturday night.
Police identified him as Llewlyn Johnson, 59, a resident of Prospect district, New Baalbec in Manchester.
The crash involved a Toyota Corolla motorcar, a King Long coach bus and a Toyota Tundra.
According to a police report, about 9:00 pm, both the King Long bus and the Toyota Tundra were travelling west on Content main road, and the Toyota Corolla motorcar driven by Johnson was travelling in the opposite direction.
Police said the Toyota Tundra motor truck veered to the right of the roadway in an attempt to overtake the King Long bus and went into the path of the Toyota Corolla motorcar, resulting in a collision.
Johnson lost control of the Toyota Corolla and the vehicle veered to its right, colliding with the right-front section of the bus. He was reportedly flung from the car during the crash and was pronounced dead at hospital.
The crash occurred less than 24 hours after a baby was killed along a nearby stretch of road in the parish
