Police have opened an investigation into the death of Kedecia McLeod, a Manchester woman who had been reported missing, while also considering whether the case may involve a murder-suicide.
McLeod, 40, was reported missing on Wednesday after she was seen getting into a red Honda Fit outside her workplace on Caledonia Road in Manchester. Residents in Pepper, St Elizabeth, found her body shortly before 9 a.m. on Thursday and contacted the authorities.
Investigators who responded observed multiple injuries to her upper body, among them what seemed to be a gunshot wound. The red Honda Fit was later located in Luana, St Elizabeth.
Police said 50-year-old Maurice Fennel of St James, believed to be the main suspect, was found dead earlier Thursday in Standfast, Brown's Town, St Ann. Detectives suspect Fennel died by suicide, but inquiries into both deaths are ongoing.
