NHT A Hold Firm in Business House Open League Title Chase
Defending champions National Housing Trust A remain on course to retain their Business House Open League netball crown after a commanding 38-15 victory over Ministry of Health and Wellness A on Saturday at the National Stadium.
Captain Abigail Linton said NHT used the lopsided contest to refine its game rather than simply chase a result. "This game was mainly for practice. We knew that the team was a lesser team to us. So, it was just for us to come and work on our structures and execute what we were under instructions that we got from our coach," Linton said.
RJR Communications Group likewise overwhelmed the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, posting a 48-9 win. Player Shante McKinley welcomed how cleanly her side moved the ball into scoring range. "We executed well. We tried to get all the passes accurate into the shoot. To the goal circle, to the shooter, and that's what we did, and so it worked," McKinley said.
Scotiabank B also prevailed, defeating IBEX 19-10. Captain Karen Windstanley said the side pressed on under coaching direction even without its main shooter. "So, our coach, we played according to instructions. Our main shooter is not here today, and so we know we had to double down, put the concentration cap on to ensure that we would have walked away with this win," Windstanley said.
The next round of fixtures is set for Tuesday.
