Cabinet and Senate Leaders Lay Flowers for Late PM Hugh Lawson Shearer at National Heroes Park

Hon. Pearnel Charles Jr., who serves as Minister of Labour and Social Security, laid flowers at the shrine of the late former Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Hugh Lawson Shearer, on Monday (May 18) at National Heroes Park in Kingston. The observance formed part of a floral tribute held to honour the 103rd anniversary of Shearer’s birth.

Senator the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, also placed a floral offering at the same shrine during the ceremony at the park on Monday (May 18), in remembrance of the 103rd year since Shearer was born.

Hon. Thomas Tavares-Finson, President of the Senate, attended on behalf of Prime Minister Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness and laid flowers at Shearer’s shrine at National Heroes Park in Kingston on Monday (May 18). The act was part of the floral tribute marking the 103rd anniversary of the former leader’s birth.

Hon. Robert Montague, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Infrastructure Development with responsibility for Land Titling and Settlements, likewise placed flowers at the shrine of the late former Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Hugh Lawson Shearer, at National Heroes Park in Kingston on Monday (May 18), as the nation observed the 103rd anniversary of his birth.
