Holness salutes Spain after FIFA World Cup 2026 triumph

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has offered congratulations to Spain following its victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, highlighting the side’s passion and resolve across the competition.

Holness also recognised Argentina for a solid campaign and noted that the two finalists produced a final that football supporters will remember. He further thanked FIFA along with host nations the United States, Mexico and Canada for staging an event that used the game to bring communities closer.

Football, he added, still binds people across borders, and he voiced optimism that Jamaica will again feature on the sport’s premier platform.
