Productivity begins not in boardrooms, but in classrooms.”

In today’s Sectoral Debate presentation, Anthony Hylton, MP and Opposition Spokesperson on Trade and Logistics, highlighted the urgent need for Jamaica’s education and workforce systems to align with the industries of the future.

Referencing innovative programmes at Edith Dalton James High School in logistics, entertainment, and vocational training, Mr. Hylton emphasized that Jamaica must prepare young people for real economic participation through modern skills development, technology, entrepreneurship, and industry-driven education.

He also warned that without meaningful economic transformation, Jamaica risks losing another generation of talent, as young professionals continue to question whether the country offers opportunities worth investing in.

The Jamaican people are not asking for empty promises. They are asking for vision, opportunity, affordable living, sustainable wages, and a clear national strategy capable of unlocking Jamaica’s full potential.
