Emma Raducanu gains Queen's Club lift ahead of Wimbledon
British tennis player Emma Raducanu says her strong start at the Queen's Club Championships can help her build momentum before Wimbledon.
Raducanu, Britain's top-ranked woman, beat Anna Blinkova 6-0, 6-3 in the opening round, recording her first victory since March after illness had unsettled her season.
She said she was calm, sure of herself and lively during the match, drawing energy from the local spectators while settling back into grass-court play.
After the win, Raducanu wrote “back home” on a television camera lens. She is due to meet Sorana Cirstea in the second round.
