Russian Missile and Drone Strikes Kill 22 Across Ukraine
A sweeping overnight Russian assault using missiles and drones hit several parts of Ukraine, leaving at least 22 people dead, including two children, and injuring more than 100 others.
Dnipro suffered the highest death toll, with 16 fatalities recorded there. Another six people were killed in Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the strikes hit civilian infrastructure and energy sites, and again appealed for more Patriot missile defence systems.
Russia described the operation as retaliation for earlier Ukrainian attacks and said every planned military target was struck successfully.
