ST ANN, Jamaica — Detectives in St Ann have charged a second suspect in connection with the 2024 killing of 72-year-old retiree Allan Rattigan in Ocho Rios.
Charged with murder is 23-year-old Ashan Gallimore of Rectory Road in May Pen, Clarendon. The charge stems from an incident that occurred at Pyramid Point on November 18, 2024.
Reports from the St Ann’s Bay police are that sometime around 10 p.m., Rattigan’s caregiver arrived at his home and found him unresponsive with his hands and feet tied. The police were summoned, and the elderly man was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators later determined that Rattigan had reportedly invited Gallimore and four other men to his residence prior to the incident. During the visit, an argument allegedly developed, and the retiree was reportedly strangled.
Police further allege that several items, including jewellery, shoes, and a black cellular phone belonging to the deceased, were stolen from the premises.
Gallimore was subsequently taken into custody and charged after detectives reportedly obtained a recorded statement linking him to the case.
He is expected to appear before the court on October 9.
