Seiveright urges more Jamaicans to pursue globally competitive businesses, following launch of Rich Rum
State Minister in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Delano Seiveright, is encouraging more Jamaicans to pursue globally competitive businesses, following the launch of cricket legend Chris Gayle’s new premium spirits brand, Rich Rum.
Addressing the official launch in Kingston, Mr. Seiveright said Gayle’s investment demonstrates that Jamaica has the talent, reputation and business environment to create internationally recognised brands.
He described the venture as a major boost for brand Jamaica, noting that Gayle’s worldwide profile provides a unique platform to showcase Jamaican products to millions of consumers across key international markets.
Produced by Triple Gold Rums Limited, Rich Rum enters the market with three premium expressions, Over Proof, Premium and Dark, and is targeting both local consumers and export markets.
Mr. Seiveright said Jamaica’s strong economic fundamentals, growing investment in manufacturing and infrastructure, and continued private sector confidence should encourage More entrepreneurs to think beyond the local market and develop premium Jamaican brands with global ambitions.
