St Catherine CC Lead Melbourne CC by 60 Runs After Senior Cup Final Opener

St. Catherine Cricket Club moved into a strong position on the opening day of the Senior Cup final, holding a 60-run lead over Melbourne Cricket Club with six wickets still standing in the chase.

Batting first, St. Catherine were dismissed for 171. Carlos Brown dominated the innings with 91 runs, and Kevin Letman added 27. Melbourne's bowlers were led by Abijai Mansingh, who returned three wickets for 28. Kerry Campbell claimed two for 31, and Matthew Comrie finished with two for 41.

Melbourne's reply reached 111 for six at the close, leaving them 60 runs short of their opponents' total. Kimani Wilson top-scored with 37, while Mansingh remained not out on 23. Renaldo Ingram and Kerry Campbell each contributed 19 runs.

Jevar Royal produced the day's best bowling figures, taking five wickets for 32 to keep St. Catherine firmly on top. Melbourne face a demanding task on day two as they try to close the gap and push for the title.
