St Mary Contractor Found Dead Was Sought Over Alleged Machete Attack

ST MARY, Jamaica - Police say 43-year-old contractor Oneero Roberts, otherwise called "Anif", was wanted for questioning over a reported machete attack on the mother of his child before he was found dead on Wednesday.

Roberts, from Comsee district in Highgate, St Mary, is alleged to have attacked the woman during a domestic dispute after she reportedly ended their relationship. Investigators said the woman's mother stepped in and was injured as well.

The two women were taken to hospital for treatment. Roberts reportedly left the location before police arrived and was not seen again until his decomposing body was discovered behind his house.

Police said the death is being investigated as a suspected suicide, and inquiries into the wider incident are continuing.
