TAJ says intermittent issues affecting eMVRC transactions

KINGSTON, Jamaica —Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) says the system used to facilitate electronic motor vehicle registration certificate (eMVRC) transactions, is currently experiencing a partial service disruption.

TAJ in a press release on Friday; says some customers may experience difficulties when attempting to access or complete eMVRC related services.

“The tax authority wishes to emphasise that this issue does not affect all users, and only a subset of customers may encounter disruptions at this time. Our service providers are aware of the issue and are actively working to restore full service in the shortest possible time. Customers who are unable to access the payment webpage or are experiencing difficulty proceeding to payment are being asked to visit their nearest tax office for assistance,” TAJ says.

Additionally, TAJ says customers who have completed the application and payment process online but are unable to generate their electronic motor vehicle registration certificate, will have the process completed by TAJ without any further action by the applicant and will be notified by email when the certificate is available online via the certificate generation distribution system (CGDS) portal.
