Taylor Farms iceberg lettuce sample confirms Cyclospora in US diarrhoea outbreak

Iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms has returned a positive Cyclospora result, connecting the produce to a diarrhoea outbreak sweeping parts of the United States.

According to the FDA, that tested batch sits outside the firm’s ongoing voluntary withdrawal of lettuce sourced from central Mexico. Officials say at least 94 patients have been admitted to hospital, while case counts run into the thousands across multiple states.

Taylor Farms and public-health agencies are still probing the contamination and urge shoppers to stay clear of listed recalled lettuce items.
