
Tourism Minister embarks on strategic tourism missions to New York and Spain

Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett departed the island yesterday for a series of high-level tourism engagements in New York and Spain aimed at strengthening global partnerships, expanding airlift opportunities and advancing Jamaica’s Tourism 3.0 vision.
Minister Bartlett is participating in the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) Caribbean Week in New York from June 1-5, where he will join regional tourism leaders, travel trade partners and industry stakeholders in discussions focused on the future of Caribbean tourism.
During his New York visit, Minister Bartlett is also scheduled to hold strategic meetings with executives from JetBlue Airways and En Voyage to explore opportunities for enhanced connectivity, travel partnerships and market expansion.
The Minister will then travel to Spain to attend the 126th Session of the UN Tourism Executive Council from June 10-11, where global leaders will examine key issues affecting the sector, including tourism resilience, sustainability, innovation and destination management.
The engagements further reinforce Jamaica’s leadership in global tourism discussions while supporting efforts to strengthen the island’s competitiveness, build resilience and drive sustainable growth across the sector.
