Authorities have identified the two men who were fatally shot during a reported confrontation with police in Mandeville, Manchester, on Friday night.
The deceased are 18-year-old Dantae Edward Carter, whose addresses are listed as Hanbury District in Manchester and Brighton District in St. Elizabeth, and 19-year-old Dave Raymond of Mannings Field District, Manchester.
According to preliminary reports, the incident unfolded shortly after 8 p.m. near a gas station along Newleigh Road on the outskirts of Mandeville.
Witnesses reported hearing explosions believed to be gunfire, forcing customers and gas station employees to take cover.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that a white Toyota Axio motorcar was being pursued by a black SUV at high speed. The chase reportedly continued for more than a kilometre toward the town centre.
During the incident, a bystander was reportedly grazed by a bullet.
After the shooting ended, the two men were reportedly removed from the vehicle by police. Investigators also confirmed that two firearms were seized at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
