Vybz Kartel finally drops God and Time (Photp: Ackime Snow)

Dancehall phenom Vybz Kartel officially released his new album God and Time on Friday, June 5, with the project immediately debuting at Number 1 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Albums chart.

The 14-track LP blends themes of gratitude, faith, wellness, spirituality, romance, and reflection, led by the opening title track “God and Time” and the closing song “Watch Over Me.”

The project also features a bunch of majorcollaborations, including “Hype Life” with fellow dancehall giant Mavado, the energetic dancefloor track “Confession” with Spice, afro-dancehall fusion “Stay For The Night” featuring Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid, “Casi Casi” with Latin star Farruko, and “Try Again” featuring Skillibeng. The album also includes the previously released single “Panic” with Shenseea, which has already amassed over 10 million YouTube views.

All tracks on the album were produced by Kartel under Vybz Kartel Muzik alongside his manager TJ Records, who serves as executive producer of the project. The album also features contributions from respected engineers and producers including Redboom Supamix, Dre Day, Jordan Chimney, David Chimney, as well as production duo Zack (Zack Foster) and Raph (Raphael Vivet) of Gold Up.

Additionally, the dancehall entertainer will also host a private virtual listening party for fans in celebration of the album launch on June 5 at 9 PM.

God and Time is expected to be eligible for Grammy consideration following Kartel’s previously nominated projects Party With Me and Heart & Soul. Both albums earned the deejay his first-ever Grammy nominations, with Party With Me arriving around the time of his release from prison and Heart & Soul continuing his acclaimed return run.
