The West Indies women's campaign for an ICC T20 World Cup semifinal place took a hit on Wednesday when England beat them by 38 runs in a leaders' meeting at Lord's.
After winning the toss, England set a stiff target with 186 for seven. The Caribbean side, sent in to chase, could not stay on the required rate and closed on 148 for five.
Chinelle Henry gave the innings a lift with a half-century from just 29 balls, but her knock alone was not enough to overhaul the deficit.
The loss leaves the West Indies with more work to do to secure a last-four berth, while England tightened their grip at the top of the group standings.
