Woman fatally stabbed in downtown Kingston; attacker killed by police

Fifty-year-old Katherine Wallace was stabbed to death about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday along Love Lane in downtown Kingston.

The fatal incident was captured on video and unfolded in full view of others who attempted to protect the now deceased woman.

A few hours later, at 11:30 p.m. the police fatally shot the alleged suspect, Davar Dacres, at the intersection of Hanover and Beeston streets.

Dacres allegedly charged at the police with a ratchet knife and said, “Mi nah go nuh jail”.

The Central Kingston Police are investigating.

The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has also commenced a probe into the fatal shooting.
