Cayman Premier Andre Ebanks Heads Overseas For Financial Services Talks

Cayman Islands Premier Andre Ebanks is visiting Trinidad & Tobago and New York City this week as the territory seeks to build stronger links for its financial services sector.
Ebanks, who also holds the Financial Services portfolio, is due first in Port of Spain for sessions connected to the 62nd Caribbean Financial Action Task Force Plenary and its working groups. Those meetings are expected to cover anti-money laundering policy, terrorism financing controls, cross-border cooperation and new patterns in financial crime.
From Wednesday to Saturday, he is scheduled to be in New York for talks with figures in the US financial industry. Officials said the visit fits the government’s wider plan to support Cayman’s image as a properly regulated global financial centre and market its financial services sector abroad.
