Tropical Battery delivers to 39 US states through new Amazon storefront
Tropical Battery Company, a Jamaican battery maker, says it is gaining ground in the United States market after opening a dedicated storefront on Amazon.com. The Kingston-based business, publicly listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, reports that in only its first few weeks online, orders have been delivered to purchasers spread across more than 39 states.
Revenue tied to the new outlet is still small, the firm acknowledges, but the breadth of geographic uptake has surprised executives and surpassed planning assumptions. They point to the outcome as evidence that a company rooted in the capital can lean on Amazon's shipping and warehousing backbone to reach American households and commercial buyers, collecting US dollars without establishing a physical base in that country.
The approach, Tropical Battery adds, aligns with wider ambitions to enter additional overseas territories, broaden its income sources, and lock in sustainable hard-currency receipts. For now, Amazon's fulfilment network operates as its on-the-ground logistics arm in the US, widening access to shoppers while the company strengthens the digital sales foundation it hopes will fuel later expansion.
