Arnett Gardens will meet defending champions Frazers Whip in the Jamaica Women’s Premier League final after both teams came through their second-leg semi-finals at the UWI JFF Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence on Saturday.

In the late match, Arnett Gardens powered past Los Perfectos 5-1 to complete an 8-3 aggregate win, adding to their 3-2 advantage from the opening leg. Shakira Douglas led the way with a hat-trick, putting the Junglists in front in the second minute before scoring again 16 minutes later.

Douglas completed her treble in the 31st minute, taking her season tally to 21 goals and moving her into second place in the Golden Boot standings. Captain Tiana Shay Hamilton added Arnett’s fourth in the 71st minute, and Tashika Reid struck in the 86th to finish the scoring for the winners. Tanisha Vassell got Los Perfectos’ lone goal in the 51st minute.

Frazers Whip, meanwhile, were denied victory for the first time this season as Real Mona held them to a 1-1 draw in the return leg. The result was still enough for the defending champions to advance 6-1 on aggregate after their 5-0 first-leg win.

Captain Nevergail Able gave Frazers Whip the lead in the 12th minute, but newcomers Real Mona responded through Brianna Mars, who equalised in the 33rd minute.

The JWPL final is scheduled for next Saturday at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
