
St James investigators are looking into the unexplained death of a three-year-old girl who was brought to hospital with several injuries late last night.
According to reports, the child’s 20-year-old mother carried her to Cornwall Regional Hospital at about 9:19 p.m.
Sources said the youngster showed bruising on different parts of her body and had swelling on her forehead.
Medical staff assessed the child, but she was declared dead when she arrived.
Detectives have opened an inquiry into the troubling matter as they seek to find out how the injuries were caused.
The Mount Salem Police are still investigating.
